Brock Lesnar Frank Video. The 100 Greatest Fights in MMA History: Fights 25

Eh, it detracts from my credibility in your eyes and that’s fine-everything I write I imagine helps and hurts my credibility depending on the reader. But, I’ll say again, “greatest” is subjective-I’ve defined it as some combination of personal taste, significance in the overall scheme of MMA, spectacle, technical fighting, brawling, prominence of participants, watchability, etc. I’ve clearly skewed more towards significance than watchability, but to say that damages my credibility is, again, a stretch. If I said off the bat that watchability was the primary element and then left off fights like Fisher/Stout, Cro Cop/Randleman, some Chris Lytle fights, etc., I agree you’d have to assume I didn’t do my homework. That would be damaging.

Here, you’re saying our definitions of “greatest” don’t match and, because of that, my credibility is damaged. This time, I’ll just disagree. @E. Spencer: Eh, it detracts from my credibility in your eyes and that’s fine-everything I write I imagine helps and hurts my credibility depending on the reader.

Princeton Eggs. Bucs’ Morris Carries ‘Irvington Swagger’

RAHEEM MORRIS stands outside his grandmother’s home in Livingston, N.J., the town the new Bucs’ head coach grew up. Morris returned home for June 5, which was Raheem Morris Day. By GARY SHELTON ST. PETERSBURG TIMES Published: Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 10:26 p.m. Last Modified: Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 10:26 p.m. IRVINGTON, N.J. | Even on the day that was designed for him, Raheem Morris could not escape the storm.

He stood in a puddle on a broken piece of track, looking out at the ragged football field of his youth. The sky was as gray as a bruise, and the rain beat against his umbrella in a steady hum. Over his shoulder, there was a scoreboard. This is where Raheem Morris grew up. This is where he made a few plays, and where he let a few slip away.

Movie Awards. Sacha Baron Cohen’s stunt dressed as Bruno leaves Eminem red

SACHA Baron Cohen’s uber-camp alter ego Bruno has caused a stir at the MTV Movie Awards, leaving rapper Eminem red-faced in an apparent stunt at the star-studded ceremony in Los Angeles. Bruno flew into the awards show on a wire, wearing only white feathery wings and a jockstrap to protect his modesty. But he soon encountered difficulty as the wire snagged, leaving him dangling precariously above the audience, before he was lowered – head first – into the lap of a seemingly unsuspecting Eminem.

After wrestling off the flamboyant ‘Austrian’, the rapper and his entourage stormed out of the show, leaving Bruno hanging to the audience’s delight. Twilight was the big winner on the night, taking home five awards including best movie, best kiss and best fight. The late Heath Ledger was recognised as best villain for his role as The Joker in The Dark Knight. Other winners included Jim Carrey, Zac Effron Ashley Tisdale and Miley Cyrus.

Jared Ashley. CMT : News : John Rich Free on Bond on Assault and Harassment Charges

contestant Jared Ashley. Rich turned himself in to Nashville police and immediately posted bond Thursday (May 28) on two counts of assault and one of harassment. All are misdemeanor charges. It’s the latest development of an ongoing disagreement between Rich and Ashley.

In April, Rich filed a lawsuit in Nashville claiming Ashley defamed him during an interview with a Florida radio station when he falsely stated that Rich hit him in the face during an altercation at the Spot, Rich’s private club in Nashville. In the suit, Rich said Ashley entered the club without permission on March 13 and had to be removed by security after being asked to leave. Rich says the charges Ashley brought against him this week are false. In a statement released by his attorney, Rich said, “Singer Jared Ashley and Music Row attorney Chris Sevier demanded I pay $2.9 million in exchange for dropping false misdemeanor charges that they levied against me.

Video. Viral Video: Ryan Giggs Shows off New Jumpers for Goalposts Technology

Without doubt the best April Fools joke of the day is found in the , as the red-top manages to snare Ryan Giggs and Darren Campbell into participating in an excellent prank. The joke was wrapped up in the believable tale that the days of arguments in the pick-up park games may be about to come to an end, as Reebok launch their new technology aimed at bringing “jumpers for goalposts” into the 21st century. A chip inside the Reebok AF1 (get it!!) ball connects with a sensor placed inside the jumper, that in turn sets off a sensor when the ball travels over the jumper.

We must admit that for a minute we even believed this to be true, especially as there is a promotional video to boot. The excellent April Fool’s joke can be seen. *** The Mirror were not the only outlet trying to pull the wool over their readers’ eyes today.

Room. Salt Lake County inmates to pay for room, board

Attention, inmates: No more free room and board at the Salt Lake County jail. The Sheriff’s Office successfully argued for a pay-to-stay program at the lockup, securing on Tuesday the County Council’s go-ahead to charge inmates $40 a day for boarding costs. Those bills will start to accrue this month. “This is not a program to generate funds,” Undersheriff Scott Carver insisted.

“This is to instill accountability within the offender population.” The policy is hardly novel in Utah, where several counties already have tapped prisoners’ pocketbooks to ease the jail’s financial burden on taxpayers. The Box Elder County jail started charging inmates for the first time last month. Jailers in Cache, Weber, Davis, Utah and Washington counties have adopted the practice as well. The Salt Lake County Council voted unanimously to let Sheriff Jim Winder pursue the pay-to-stay program.

Season Finale. ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8,’ ‘Table for 12′ boost family fare

“Certainly the biological phenomenon of bearing that many children is interesting,” O’Neill said, noting that TLC has created shows about “adoption-based” families that didn’t “resonate” with viewers the way these shows do. “So, there is the element of the biological phenomenon that plays a role. But secondly, there are the logistics of large families. It gives us something to appreciate as viewers when we’re trying to put food on the table and be organized for one or two or three kids, and then to double or triple that.

It just holds a fascination for us and makes us think maybe we don’t have it so tough.” Finally, “at the end of the day, there is just no accounting for cute kids,” O’Neill said. There are other factors involved, such as religion and what amounts to a conservative ideology. An undercurrent of Christianity can be felt in each of the shows. With the Duggars, a family of Southern Baptists, it is front and center.

Alice Waters. Slow movement picks up speed in the Bay Area

It started with Slow Food, and now we have Slow Fashion, imported from the East Coast but getting its own Bay Area spin. The central idea is to get away from the advertising hype and the assembly line, to move toward a more thoughtful and ethical consumerism, one that has health benefits for the individual as well as the planet. Slow is a natural fit for this region, given its intellectual iconoclasm, progressive politics and environmentalism. The targets of Slow Food and Slow Fashion are a perfect rogue’s gallery that includes McDonald’s and Wal-Mart, factory farms with their pesticide-laden crops and poorly paid field workers, and clothing factories using sweatshop labor to churn out seasonal, throwaway products.

Given these highly suspect sources, Slow Food and Slow Fashion want to know where products come from and how they’re made. Slow Food in the Bay Area has its origins with a Berkeley restaurant owner, Alice Waters, who had the simple idea of growing her own herbs and sending out foragers to local farmers’ markets. The fledgling grow-local movement also defined itself by what it wasn’t, drawing on the inspired activism of Italy’s Carlo Petrini and his opposition to the opening of a McDonald’s in a central square in Rome. Petrini and his allies fought back against the Big Mac with a public potluck featuring traditional Italian dishes. Slow Fashion is a relatively new concept.
